BRIEF INTRO

Starting from Kakani top at 2100m, a 24km drive from the Kathmandu city, we ride toward Budanilkantha via the lush green Shivapuri forest reserve.

DETAIL ITINERARY

Day 01: Kathmandu to Budhanilkantha – 35km, Max Alt 2100m

We drive to Kakani top check bikes and handover your lunch pack of the day that includes sandwich, some fruits and juice. Carry at least 3 bottles of water. We then clear the entry permits for the National Park. A canopy of trees makes for perfect biking on this dirt trail inside the National Park. From here we’ll traverse across the north sector of the valley on some wonderful undulating village roads linking us to Budhanilkantha where we’ll find our overnight accommodation. Your bags will be already transferred there by the time you reached. O/N: hotel,  Meals: B/L/D

Day 02: Ride to – Chisapani- 35km, Max Alt 2195m

From Budhanilkantha we have first 8km bit of rocky hard uphill till Nagi Gompa (a nunnery) then you have smooth trail takes us to Mulkharka, where our hot lunch will be waiting with great pristine views of valley and local villages. After taking lunch break, we head gradual uphill via forest to the great hilltop resort in Chisapani. Chisapani offers some of the best views of the Valley and 8 of the Worlds 10 highest peaks including Mt. Everest. O/N: Basic Guesthouse Meals: B/L/D

Day 03: Ride to Dhulikhel via Nagarkot – 45km, Max Alt 2200m

After breakfast, we head mostly downhill towards Nagarkot, though last 8km is uphill till Nagarkot view tower. Great views of Himalayan Panorama onto the left hand-side whereas on right you will see dense forest and Kathmandu valley far away. We stop for some brunch here then ride again downhill till Nala village (an old Newari village) and then mixed trails to Dhulikhel; another hill station of Kathmandu valley, superb view of Himalayas. Enjoy beer in the beautiful garden of our overnight hotel. O/N Hotel, Meals: B/L/D

Day 04: Dhulikhel-Namobuddha – Balthali Village- 34km, Max Alt 1800m

Mind blowing views of Sunrise, have breakfast and then start riding on paved road for about 8km but wide sealed road with very less traffic and great views of local villages, then we switch to dirt trail about another 15km, and we reach to the Buddhist Cultural site called Namobudha; where the Lord Buddha in his previous incarnation fed himself to a hungry tigress!. Great views of Himalayan Range from Ganesh Himal to Everest can be seen, then we ride mostly downhill to our secluded mountain resort called Balthali Village Resort. You will have nice view of village vegetation with culture and tradition of their own. O/N Resort, Meals: B/L/D

Day 05: Balthali – Lakhurebhanjyang – Kathmandu, 45km, Max Alt 2000m

Today we first ride 7km on dirt trail to Panauti; old city with many temples and monuments; Indreswora Temple is one of the most popular there and then we ride about 15km up but gradual to the Lakhure Bhanjyang; bird eye view of Kathmandu valley and mountains can be seen from here.. Small tented camp there; where we will have our lunch and then 7km head to toe downhill to Lubhu, then we ride on paved road to Patan Durbar Square, where we do some sightseeing and then ride back to Kathmandu.
